Two-Level Decomposition Method for Resource Allocation in Telecommunication Networks

چکیده
n this paper, we consider a two-level problem of resource allocation in a telecommunication network divided into zones. At the upper level the network manager distributes homogeneous resource shares among zones in order to maximize the total network profit, which takes into account the inner zonal payments from users and the implementation costs. This means that each zonal income calculation at a given resource share requires solution of the inner resource allocation problem. As a result, we obtain a two-level convex optimization problem involving non smooth functions whose values are calculated algorithmically. Unlike the usual convex non smooth optimization methods we suggest this problem to be solved by a Lagrangean duality method which enables us to reduce the initial problem to a sequence of hierarchical one-dimensional problems. Besides, we suggest new ways to adjust the basic problem to networks with moving nodes. We present results of computational experiments which confirm the applicability of the new method. n this paper, we consider a two-level problem of resource allocation in a telecommunication network divided into zones. Application of Market Equilibrium Models to Optimal Resource Allocation in Telecommunication Networks
We consider several problems of optimal resource allocation in telecommunication networks and show that they can be formulated as market equilibrium models. This approach enables us to create simple and efficient solution methods. Next, we consider such a resource allocation problem for a provider of a wireless communication network divided into zones (clusters). The network manager aims to dis...
متن کاملA New Fairness Index and Novel Approach for QoS-Aware Resource Allocation in LTE Networks Based on Utility Functions
Resource allocation techniques have recently appeared as a widely recognized feature in LTE networks. Most of existing approaches in resource allocation focus on maximizing network’s utility functions. The great potential of utility function in improving resource allocation and enhancing fairness and mean opinion score (MOS) indexes has attracted large efforts over the last few years. In this p...
متن کاملScenario-based modeling for multiple allocation hub location problem under disruption risk: multiple cuts Benders decomposition approach
The hub location problem arises in a variety of domains such as transportation and telecommunication systems. In many real-world situations, hub facilities are subject to disruption. This paper deals with the multiple allocation hub location problem in the presence of facilities failure. To model the problem, a two-stage stochastic formulation is developed. In the proposed model, the number of ...
متن کاملA heuristic method for consumable resource allocation in multi-class dynamic PERT networks
This investigation presents a heuristic method for consumable resource allocation problem in multi-class dynamic Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) networks, where new projects from different classes (types) arrive to system according to independent Poisson processes with different arrival rates. Each activity of any project is operated at a devoted service station located in a n...

Abstract Ad hoc Wireless Networks, are networks formed by a collection of nodes through radio. In wireless networking environment, formidable challenges are presented. One important challenge is connection maintenance mechanism for power consumption. In this paper, a multi-objective optimal design is considered for ad-hoc networks which address the electrical power of nodes effects on cross-l...
